Gait Analysis
Gait analysis refers to the assessment of your walking pattern and how that might be contributing to your symptoms. Our Podiatrists are trained to analyse your particular walking and/or running style to determine if that may be a risk factor in developing injury.
In children it is also very important as it can establish whether early intervention may be appropriate for prevention as well as treatment of ailments of the feet and legs. Whilst foot mechanics may cause problems in the way we walk and run, the way the feet are loaded can also be affected by our hip, knee and leg alignment in the same way.
We have a treadmill at our new practice address which assists in the assessment of gait and it is often utilised for those patients who are prescribed custom made foot orthoses.
